Context

Pre-check Experience Design Sprint

OnVUE is Pearson VUE's online proctoring service that allows candidates to take certification exams remotely from home or office, with AI and live human proctoring to monitor candidates via webcam for security. By using Topaz design framework and Pearson's latest branding, we simplified cross-platform exam flow, make it seamlessly integrates modern Ul technologies while embracing global accessibility standards.

Vision & Strategy

Design Sprint

Key opportunities & Design focus areas:

Design solution 01

Create a consistent pre-check flow

The structured flow separates tasks into clear phases, increasing completion rates through sequential gating while reducing technical failures with early system checks.

Design solution 02

Unify cross-platform experience

Webpage to desktop transition

Desktop to mobile transition

Design solution 03

Enhance motion feedback & visual guidance

Icons and illustrations were iterated to achieve optimal clarity and consistency.

Retrospective

From friction to flow: responsive design

This project reinforced how product friction at high-stress moments directly impacts retention and user trust. By restructuring the check-in flow into clear, guided phases and aligning the experience across platforms, we reduced cognitive load and created a more confidence-driven journey.
